| Well, at 14, I woudn't overdo the weights just yet. Start up simple pull ups and push ups and squats. Do lost of cardio - walking, running, swimming, tennis, etc. If you do fun activities, you can stick with it. As for eating - just use common sense. Stay away from hamburgers and french fries and sweets. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies, chicken, fish or lean beef. For carbohydrates, eat "low glycemic", meaning they won't spike your blood suger levels (which makes you hungry again quicker). An example is whole grain brown rice rather than processed white rice. And watch for all that hidden sugar in processed foods such as breakfast cereal and even catsup. |
