I lost 10 pounds in 6 months..... not a lot, but I lost a lot of fat and gained muscle. I went on the abs diet by david zincenko because it is really easy to follow. Just eat every 3 hours, lean proteins, whole grains, leafy greens, and dairy. eating yogurt helps burn fat too.Lastly, lift weights, this helps burn soooooo many calories.

I've been overweight for 10 years now, I am 32 years old. The ONLY thing that has worked, and is still working, for me is a 10 week program at my hospital. I was taught how to eat, how to exercise, and most of all, how to do these things RIGHT. I lost 22 lbs. in 10 weeks by cutting my portion sizes in half, adding a lot of fruit and veg. into my diet, and exercising more. I joined a gym and go every other day, but there are little things you can do like just walking more, taking stairs instead of elevators etc. I also stopped eating after 8pm. That was my big downfall. I also switched to wheat bread, lowfat cheese, very lean beef and a lot of wraps instead of sandwiches. I can't stand vegetables, so what I do is put a bunch of fruit in the blender, add lettuce, carrots, some water and blend into a smoothie. You can't even taste the veg. I have one of these for breakfast, and one around 8pm as my last meal for the day. I also drink lots of water every day. About 6 to 8 16oz. bottles a day. That's quite a bit.My main changes were not eating at night, more activity, cutting portion size, and more water. I've been losing about 2 to 4 lbs. a week, and I feel SO much better!Good luck. I know how hard the road you're about to take is, and I wish you the best.

well i've never nessacarily been fat but i gained alot of weight last winter, in the off season. once i realized it, i went on a "health kick". I just ate healthy things and got out more (i realized that my snacking was the problem not my regular meals, so whenever i wasn't home or busy, i didn't eat anything bad), I replaced my lunch with lean cuisines, and all in about a month and a week or so, I lost 20 pounds going from 134 to 114 (I'm like 5'1 one so yeah). I think that the elimnating snacking thing worked the best, when you are busy you're mind doesn't thnk about fatty snacks that you don't need. surprisingly, video games helped (mind was distracted while playing?), also writing, hanging out, doing things and going places. =] I haven't gained a bit of fat back ever since. =]

I followed the Prism weight loss plan. I lost 40 lbs in about 5 months. Basically it is healthy eating, but you have materials to read and a food diary to keep and meetings once a week for support. You can get more information online at: www.prismweightloss.com

I know it will probably sound cheesy, but the thing that worked most for me is changing my mindset. I realized that my problem was that I was 'dieting.' Losing weight and becoming healthy is a total lifestyle change, not something temporary. Trust me when I say I have tried every diet you can think of - and failed each time. This time, I did simple things like cutting down on portion sizes, cut out snacks that I didn't need, and cut down on the amount of sweets that I eat. I didn't drastically change the things I was eating, but I did start making smarter choices - like buying some low-fat products, only having 2 slices of pizza instead of 3, etc. Those things really make a difference.I started a journal and kept track of everything I was eating. I also checked my weight and measurements once a week and put that in the journal as well. It made me feel good to see the progress I was making, and it gave me inspiration to keep going. I bought a used exercise bike for $5 at a garage sale and started riding 30 minutes a day. I also started doing 400 crunches a day. I discovered that fitting exercise into my schedule wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.The first week of doing this I lost 3 pounds. After that, I lost about 10 pounds a month, for a total of 30 pounds, and have now leveled out at a healthy weight.
