regular basis. I will not tell my current weight but how much should be my ideal weight ? I have heard/read many people here on Yahoo Ans saying that B.M.I. (Body Mass Index) does not give the accurate picture. Acc. to BMI my weight is in the ideal range. My frame is "medium" I think. I am pretty fit & strong. I am from India.I would really appreciate answers from all Fitness Pros.....Thanks

To figure this out, we need your current weight... Go to: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie... Use this daily caloric needs calculator to see how many calories you should be taking in everyday to lose weight.

I would say around 180-200 pounds. It seems like alot, but your tall, and male. My boyfriend is 6'2, and he used to weigh 310 pounds. Now he is down to 200, and he looks healthy

Look at some sports websites and check weights of quarterbacks, soccer/football players, basketball players of the same height.BMI is wayyyyyyyy off. I am 6'5 and I weighed 190lbs at one point, and looked anorexic. BMI said I needed to weigh lower than that.BMI said that Michael Jordan at his lean mean best was OVERWEIGHT.At 6'1 I would aim at 180-220lbs depending on your build. My goal for losing weight at my height is 200-240lbs.

That answer depends on many factors besides your hight. Instead of focusing on your wieght, perhapse your focus needs to turn to life habits such as consistant diet, sleep and exercise. People tend not to put enough emphasis on how much sleep plays a part in our health. The most effective way to think about food (i have found) is to imagine your body as a wood stove. If you pile in a bunch of wood all at once, the fire will be big, strong and short....lots of ashes. Do that all day, you have TONS of ash to discard of and the stove is not going to STAY warm. If you load the stove first with lots of wood to get it going..(breakfast) then put in small abounts of wood throughout the day, you will have an efficiant wood stove, with less ash.....Your body will take care of itself, if you set it up to do so. It is quite simple really.Energy in vs. energy out together with you are what you eat. If you adopt these 2 consepts throughout your day, you can't help but be healthy.
