Hi I'm 14, and on Monday a friend of mine and I are starting the Michael Thurman (?) 6 week body makeover. I know that the only struggle i'll have is mental- convincing myself to stick with it. I need to lose 30 pounds in time for summer- hopefully even spring break. I know the health and all of that, I'm also allowed to get a naval piercing once I've lost the weight, but what motivated you? I mean when you wanted to eat the piece of cake- what made you snap out of it? Or when you didn't want to hit the weights, what made you push yourself? When the food tasted like rubber- what made you suck it down? My problem is always relapsing- just quitting the diet. First it starts with a little cheating- then i just completely forget about it ! A little advice please!Thank-you Smile

Go on YouTube. Search "Obese". You will want to exercise for 10 straight hours.Seriously, though. If something is tempting you, through it out.

You need a partner for your weight loss (your friend) because there was 2 things that helped me say "NO!" to certain foods, one was a friend at my side encouraging me to not give up and do good, and constantly kepts showing me and telling me that once the diet is done ill be so pleased! The other thing was self-motivation, which was when i wanted something that i knew was fattening or unhealthy, i thought, whats the point of eating this, this will make me happy for just about 5 minutes, then it will bring me down later, and cause me to gain some weight, and i thought that i'll most likely regret eating it later. So just constantly show yourself, before you eat something you know you shouldnt, just show yourself that there really isnt a point in eating something with no nutritional value and will just bring you down later.

i think everyone who has ever suceeded on a diet or exercise regime must have had a small degree of self-loathing at one point.just think about the part of your body you hate the most & use this as your motivationalso thinking about what you are going to look like will stop you from slipping from your plan.you can try looking at pictures of really big people to put you off getting that heavy, or I find to be more effective, think of someone you know that you aspire to look like, for example, one of the instructors at your gym, or a really good looking freind

Hang a giant picture on the frig of your target body. And if you go in the kitchen you can be reminded. Hang one in the bathroom where you can see it and yourself when you disrobe to bath. And it's good you have a buddy. So if you get tempted you have someone to call for reinforcement.

I always think.."Would i rather eat that cake or wear a bikini??" i think i want to wear a bikini. i alwyas think how great the feeling is of being thin...food may be the answer now but not when you are SOO big you can't breath! not all diet food tastes like rubber. here is a great website of yummy low calorie weight watchers recipes: http://www.angelfire.com/journal/wwrecipes/don't forget about it..it is a life style choiceexercise 6 days a week....treadmile..and go faster every 10lbs you lose. think when you are exercising "Pain is just the feeling of weakness leaving the body.."that works for me!best of luck!
