I'm 5'10" 170 lbs, size 11 jeans. How much weight would I need to lose to be a size 7? size 9?It's not so much that I want to lose pounds, or see a difference on the scale but that I want my old clothes to fit!!! I'm thinking about taking up walking at our gym for 30 mins a day 4 or 5 days a week. Would that help me slim down? And how long would it take before I see a difference? Thanks!

usually 10 lbs=1 inch.so, i know this is probably not TOTALLY accurate, but i would say a size 9 is 1 1/2-2 inches smaller than an 11...so to be a size nine you would need to lose between 7 and 10 lbs, and to be a size 7 maybe between 20 and 22 lbs.it also depends where you lose weight from though...you might just lose it in your upper body and not even change pant sizes

I think that it's 10 pounds per dress size. You are on the right track in thinking more about getting into your old clothes rather than being worried about your scale weight. The treadmill will help for a while, but your body will get used to it and you'll need to add weight training to keep your body guessing and the improvements coming. You should see a difference in about 2 weeks.Good luck,Coop
