I am finding it harder to maintain my body, with kids and work. If I buy ankle/ wrist weights, and go for a 15 minute speed walk, 3 times a week, will that do it?

Why dont you get the kids on a weekend to do an hour + walk round the park, you can include games such as count the people with hats on to make it more interesting. It also gives you family time with the kids. You could also go swimming with the kids. I did this and lost a wad of weight.

you are making excuses. a 15 minute "speed walk" 3 times a week will definitely not do it. sorry if that sounded harsh but i am being honest and realistic. loosing weight is a correlation between how many calories you intake and how many you use up. metabolism is a combination of all your bodily processes or how fast you use calories. getting in better overall shape by getting stronger and better conditioned will speed up your metabolism. anything that you do that requires energy will burn calories. generally, the harder it is, the more calories it will burn. ex sprinting ; walking
