| I work out very hard. My work out includes running on the track outdoor and followed by machines in the gym. I work out about five days a week, one & a half hour each time, I can burn 550 - 650 calories in each work out. But my outer thigh is obviously getting bigger. I wonder why? Is running doing this or the abductor/adductor machine? I also find that I am gaining weight instead of losing. Please advice. |

| It's the abductor/adductor machine. I don't know how you are working out with it, but try to do lighter weight with higher reps. For example, 3 sets of 20 reps. While running, the primary muscle group that is being worked is your hamstrings, or the back of your legs. You are probably gaining weight because you are putting on muscle mass and muscle weighs more than fat. Try to go by how you look and feel instead of what the scale says. |

| I absolutely agree with Samantha. I do basically the same as you do at the gym. Make sure you only keep the weights on the abductor/addcuctor machines very low. Not so low that it feels like a feather, (20 lbs.) but maybe around 40 50 or 60 lbs. THE HEAVIER THE WEIGHTS, THE BIGGER THE MUSCLES! keep that in mind =]hope i helped :]ps, running is extremely good for your thighs. it makes them skinnier. believe me -- i dropped 3 sizes in just 6 months. i swear |
