My lower back muscles are a little sore along with my glutes and hamstrings. Would it be a bad idea to run? If it is a bad idea, I need some form of cardio! Any ideas on something to increase my heart rate to burn a few 100 calories.

Fast walk or easy jog should be ok. BE sure to stretch AFTER you run. If it hurts worse as you go, stop and try an exercise bike. Avoid stair steppers, they're back killers. peace

well you could relate running / jogging with sore muscles to rubbing a cut with salt. It will still heal but only at a slower rate. You may feel that its harder to to run as long or as far as you did when your muscles werent sore. Personally i do it some times and i dont seem to have a problem. Another option would be to jump rope. That'll get your heart rate up in half the time...
