|
|
| I'm 18 and do exercise quite regularly, though I want to maintain physical fitness particularly in the aerobic sector - i go running for a couple of miles or so every morning - but I'm guilty of smoking a few times a week no more than 5 - 10 a week, but will this have a big impact on my health? Is it possible to smoke and be healthy? |

| ANY smoking is bad for you, as well as secondhand smoke. I would do your best to quit. |

| This is somewhat like saying "I exercise regularly and eat healthy, but also sometimes point a loaded gun at myself and pull the trigger, but I only do that 5-10 times a week and often the bullet misses because I have lousy aim and the rest of the time, the doctor is able to remove the bullet."Yes, smoking will kill you (eventually) no matter how much healthy stuff you do, unless you happen to die of something else (like a car accident) first. |

| it's still bad for your lungs.. i just saw a smoking ad that shows a man who has been smoking for 40 years and had to get both his legs amputated b/c he was smoking long-term.. and plus you're also at risk for developing lung cancer. Wouldn't you rather have healthy looking pink lungs than black looking ones?Think about it.. smoking shortens your life span.. think about your future. If you do get married and have kids, I'm sure you want to live a long life and see your grandchildren.Merry Christmas and try to quit smoking! |

| Ok... well at least you dont smoke very much to begin with. first try setting a goal of say 10 cigarettes a week. every week take one off, until your down to none. when you get the urge to smoke, substitute with exercise. all habbits can be broken if you have something to do that can substitute for the habbit. GOOD LUCK !!! |
