my mom and brother have both high blood pressure and high cholestrol and i don't want them to get heart disease or any of the effects that those two can cause. they both hate exercising. whenever i ask them to go to the gym with me, they refuse and they like to eat fatty foods from KFC and popeyes and no matter what i try to do, they won't listen. they've only been to the gym with me once so far, which was like two months ago, and when they tried to run, they could only run at about 4.5 mph for 5 minutes! what can i do about this? my mom is not overweight, but my brother is.

I know you are concerned. From what you are saying, they need to start some kind of exercise/ diet regimen. (( http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/Hbc/HBC_WhatIs.html ))this website gives a bit more info. Also, have them see a doctor, he or she will also encourage them. You need to stress to them that eating like this with no exercise, doubles their chances of having a heart attack. And more than 50% of people who have a heart attack, don't live to tell about it.I know this sounds harsh, but it sounds like they need to hear it. good luck.

You cannot force people to exercise or eat healthy. You may be able to talk to their doctor and explain your concerns. They both need help before they have a heart attack or other serious health problems.Try researching the effects of poor exercise and high blood pressure and leave the information out for them to read. Hopefully they will realize that they need help.Best of Luck

can't u give them chereos, u know the cearal that helps lower cholestrol, try that.u have to give them some time to adjust about exericeing because with the sudden change they wont instently get off their bootys and run the mile.try to how them a activity that they would enjoy that helps them lose some calories "LITTLE BY LITTEL."

Tell them you love them and you want them to live and not die prematurely due to neglect. Also get them to a doctor for both a warning and medication.

Fish oil, garlic and apple cider vinegar all help. For further information perhaps a search for "high blood pressure" (OR "high cholesterol") + "natural remedies" might be of interest.
