no, because your body needs time to warm up and start actually losing body fat, it's takes 20minutes for an average person to start losing fats and carbohydrates, before that they are merely burning off kJ and kcal that you've consumed in the day, so doing it in slots will definitely not have the same effect!

I'm not a college educated man, but I have been in the army for 15 years, and in that time I've been assigned to units where being in good physical shape is a must, or else.....and what I've learned is first off, the answer to your question is "NO" and this is why. Let's say that you worked out continuously for 30 min. versus 5 min x 6 which = 30 min. The person who can go non-stop for 30 min. will have more edurance and he or she is pushing their muscles to more of a what we call muscle failure, over a period of time that is going to build your endurance and make your muscles stronger. It's kind of like the same thought process of if you took one step and then rested verses running 3 miles non-stop, but.... the person who took one step and then rested, over the course of a week eventually traveled 3 miles by taking a step and resting. Who is in better shape (and who can show for it by their physique) well naturally the person who runs 3 miles a day is in better shape. make sense????

Any exercise is good. But doing it in short burts instead of all at once means that although you'll burn calories, you're less likely to burn as much fat. If you're having trouble exercising for a whole 30 mins, just start with 5 minutes a day and increase it by 5 minutes every day, you'll build up your stamina in no time. Also, walking up and down stairs is tiring, even though it's very good for toning legs & bum! Try just walking or jogging on a flat surface if you want to exercise for 30 minutes all at once. Good luck.
