| 1. Will I loose weight if i walk at a fast pace or should i jog lightly and then walk a little and then jog and the walk. Or is it fine if i just walk at a fast pace? cause i don't care how long it takes to loose the weight as long as i loose it hehe...2. Should i warm up with some jumping exercise and maybe a leg stretch before i walk/jog? |

| Walking at a pace of at least 3.5 to 4 mph is a good pace to maintain. It's far less impact on the legs then a jog. Make the walk last for at least 45 minutes. Just do some warm up stretches before starting.Charlie C. |

| Walking and running burn the same amount of calories per mile, its just that the faster you go the faster you get done. But if you walk a mile or run a mile it doesnt matter you burn the same calories. Warm up with 10 minutes of jumping aroung, running in place, dancing-just get your body moving at a moderate pace. When you notice your heart rate rise and you start to feel hot, then do a few stretches for each of your muscle groups, but pre-cardio you should focus on you legs. |

| You could do both.....Walk at a fast pace - this means you're upping your intensity, which leads to higher metabolism, hence more calories burned.Alternate between walking and jogging - this means you're offering more challenges to your muscles. Your muscles experience more varieties in movement, hence they won't be "bored" and immuned to the exercise......Yes, you should warm up and stretch before walking.....This article on walking explains it all: http://www.perfect-body-toning.com/walking-exercises.html |
