So i am 5 '6 and 125ish pounds. How many calories would i burn doing:1 hour of breaststroke1/2 walking the dog1 hour shopping1 hour watching the t.v

depends on your metabolism to begin with and how hard you work so. at a guess...breaststroke - 450dog walking - 250shopping - 150watching tv - 0 unless you clench muscles while you do it, that helps you to burn calories.

By the way it sounds, you don't need to lose any weight, but if that's what you're trying to do, I would suggest looking at Biggest Loser Quick Workouts on DVD. They work great, good luck!

about 550 for the breaststrokethe dog is about 135she shopping is about 260and the tv is about 140 and add all that up and you get 1085 calories

Anywhere from 500-700. The bulk is because of the 1 hour breaststroke, I would say 450 of the calories burned would be during that time. The rest is really not important. Walking the dog tends to be more leisure as our pets like to stop and smell the roses, so this really slows us down. Shopping tends to be a peaceful act as well, we stop and browse, not really much going on there as far as calorie burning. Watching t.v again your just sitting, but your mind is working so you do burn some calories, but again very minimal. But great job on the swimming, the swimming is a great exercise, 1 of the best in fact.
