And I want to lose a lot of weight. I have a gym membership but need to find a way to get the most out of it. I have only one hour each day M-F. I've been told that more reps with less weight will help burn fat, but I don't seem to feel much from the workout. I usually get on the bike for about 10 minutes to start, then cycle through either all of the upper body machines, or lower body machines, and do the alternate the next day. But I don't break much of a sweat. My muscles burn, but I'm not losing any weight. How can I maximize my workout time?

Does your gym have a pool? Swimming in cold water, assuming that you can stave off the urge to eat afterwords, is extremely effective in losing weight, plus it's not too much of a strain on your joints. The fastest way to lose weight doesn't require a gym. Just go out to your backyard and start digging holes. Plant a few trees while you're at it. You can also engage in a number of different activities, like riding a bike. You don't see any fat Tour de France contestants do you?

Sis,Rob (my ex) is a personal trainer. email him and ask for his advise. He works out at the same gym that you do and I am sure that he would be more than happy to show you a few things while he is there. Then you can write them down and do it when you have to work out by yourself. Rob video taped one of our work outs before and it really helped me. Please take my advise and ask him.
