I have heard you don't need them if you eat right and your liver will be lined with vitamins you don't need, that's why you pee yellow. Is this true?

Well it depends on how much you take, but it doesnt do more harm than it does good. All you really need is one multi vitamin a day, but natural supplements like Omega 3, Flax Seed, and Whey Protien are OK as well if you are trying to get in shape..

If your urine is bright yellow, then yes, you do not need the vitamins. My vitamin regimen is monitored carefully by my endocrinologist (I have a thyroid condition). I get everything I need.

No, that's not true. Most people's urine is yellow because of the stuff they put into their bodies, but mostly because they aren't drinking enough water (and the liver goes to poop. . .the kidneys do the pee).If you eat well, you may not have any nutritional deficiencies -- in which case, your body will discard the vitamins. . . but, the FDA has established recommended daily amounts . . . doses above those are often used to treat illnesses:Vitamin E is used to treat tarditive dyskinesiaVitman C is used to boost the immune systemZinc is used to decrease the chance of a viral infectionVitamin A is used to treat skin conditionsVitamin D and Calcium are used to treat osteoporosis.

Very slightly true. The only thing "bad" about vitamins is that your body can become used to them and you can therefore develop a week immune system if you take them to often and too much.SOME "vitamins", wich are more like medical pills, couph syrups, tylenol, etc. WILL harm your liver! ONLY take them when you REALLY need them. One type of real vitamin you can take up to 8,000 milligrams per day is Vitamin C! It's non toxic!Good Luck!

The American Medical Association says we should supplement because of the lacking of nutrients in our foods today. Unfortunately, almost all the vitamins on the market today are synthetic (artificial - made in a lab somewhere) and the minerals are crushed up rocks. That is why you have heard that they won't do you any good. Those don't. The vitamins and minerals found in FOOD are what we need and what our body will use. For example, we all know that spinach has iron in it. If we eat spinach, we get iron. It is in the FOOD. There has been a new technology, called Hydropontics, where scientist are growing highly absorbent plants in water solutions. They put a measured amount of vitamins and minerals in the water solution and can measure the vitamin and mineral content in the plant. This has led to a Standardized, Food Based vitamin and mineral dietary supplement. Scientific testing shows that our bodies will use 90-97% of these supplements -- because they are FOOD.There is a neat video showing this at www.mannapages.com/terry08. Enter the site and select "PLANT THE SEEDS OF WELLNESS"We also need other nutrients that our foods don't contain anymore. That is why everyone is sick all the time. Extensive scientific research has been done and the nutrients that our cells need have been identified. This emerging research is Glycobiology. These nutrients are just not available in our foods any more because food is picked green, poor farming practices, pesticides, processing, etc... Good, quality, FOOD supplements are a must for health.
