i am 5'3 130 pounds and only 14(almost 15 in a couple of days) but i need to lose weight. i was a muscular lil kid and i practically had a six pack. i was stronger than all of the guys in my class(im a girl Smile ) now my arms and my thieghs(sry dont kno how to spell it)are flabby also i have alot of fat covering my stomach. please help me and tell me if jumping rope would help. also i run in cross country and track but i hate running(even though im good) so i dont want to have to run. im hopping jumping rope will help me...please answer!!

Jumping rope is the best exercise for a tone stomach. Go for it.

Jumping rope is one of the best exercises you can do to burn calories quickly. Jumping rope for ten minutes will burn nearly 100 calories! I say go for it!

Yes! Jumping rope lowers your cholestoral and helps you lose weight fast! Have you ever heard of Jump Rope for Heart? It is a group that travels to schools all over and encourages kids to jump rope for a good cause. Joining this group might help you to practice more and lose weight faster! I'm sure there are lots of other groups similar to this in case that certain one doesn't travel near you. It would be a great way to make you feel better about your weight and have fun, too! You could also get together with a group of kids who are interested and set a goal for yourselves-say, 2 hours?-and see if you can mantain jumping rope for that long. That way, other kids could help encourage and help you to stop feeling so insecure about your weight. If that seems weird or lame, that set goals for yourself only. Try setting a time for yourself to jump rope every day. Another way to lose weight is jogging. Jogging is like running, which you obviously don't like, but it's slower, and it isn't a race. You can go as fast as you want. Maybe bring your iPod or walkman, which has been proven to make you lose weight faster. You could also ask your parents if you could join a local gym which has programs for kids your age. You could lose weight easily and get help from an instructor. Remember, don't be so insecure about your weight. You aren't fat at all! 130 pounds at your age is nothing to be ashamed of! I hope I helped! Wink
