Could anyone recomend a good starter workout program. I'm a 21 y/o male, 5'11'', and about 180lbs. I'm looking to tone my stomach and chest areas (my most self conscious areas), while building my arms (want a bigger, more defined look. I'm on christmas break from college which gives me about a month of off time to really crank down and concentrate on getting into shape. I have wieght plates that can be moved from dumb-bells to a bench press bar, can be arranged in anything from 10lbs to 75lbs. I also have one of the oliptical (sp?) machines for running. Could you all recomend and work out plan that would help me loose the weight in my stomach and chest, and start to build in all the right places. Thanks so much.

Cleansing is the best way to lose weight in my book, and you are not putting a bunch of harmful chemicals in you. It actually gets rid of all that……..I would for sure look at that site… http://www.cleansewithcgnj.com/

design a basic no nonsense weight training program for yourself including basic compound lifts. these lifts are bench press for chest, bar curls for biceps, close grip bench press and skull crushers for triceps. shoulder press for shoulders, barbell rows for back. if you are a beginner, you can do 3-4 sets of each exercise and it will hit all the major areas of the upper body. you can do squats for legs. train 4 days a week on day 1 and 3, train chest, shoulders and triceps. on day 2 and 4 train back, biceps, and legs. find a weight that allows you to do about 8-10 reps per set, take 1 minute rest between sets. then after each weight training session, hop on the elliptical and do 20-30 minutes cardio work. as for abs, do 3 sets crunches and 3 sets leg lifts. concentrate on using the abs to do he work and really squeeze the ab muscles when coming up. you should feel a good burn in the abs if you do them right. clean up your diet and refrain from eating junk food and excessive alcohol. eat a moderate amount of lean protein from foods such as chicken breast, fish, lean cuts of steak, turkey, and complex carbs such as oatmeal, potatoes, rice, limit the amount of simple carbs from sugar, and processed foods such as baked goods. throw in veggies and fruits in meals and in between snacks. thats the basic recipe for a begginer weight trainer. as you advance, you can begin to add more exercises to each muscle group to train them harder, but as a beginner, you should feel sore from the simple workout i listed. good luck and stay consistant. feel free to email me if you have any ?s on what i wrote
