Yes, but you'll have to walk for a very long time. I'd say 1 hour of continuous walking at the least.

Yeah you have to walk a lot though. My mom did it and she lots lots of weight. (She is 44 and she looks younger than she did when she was 33 !)

It takes a LONG time to tone your legs. However, in just 1 week of playing Dance Dance Revolution, mine got VERY nicely toned. I played for many hours each day, though. Invest in this game, it will help.

An hour or more of continuous walking every day will definitely help.

Im trying to lose weight myself after being put on steroids and Im finding that walking does help. To help tone the thighs, take slightly bigger strides when you walk. In fact, the bigger the better when it comes to strides but dont overdo it and end up straining yourself. It also helps to walk briskly (as Im not into running either). I found that taking the stairs at work have helped (although Im still exhausted when I finally get to the top) but just start with going up the stairs an extra 2 or 3 times a day at first and build it up from there. Hope this helps you to look great in your outfit and you should feel healthier too. Good luck

Yoga! Omg I've lost a pretty good amount of weight and became more toned from yoga. There are different types of it and I just did a mix of all the types. I learned it from about.com, just search "yoga" in the search box at the corner of the screen. Also it works pretty fast I think, I just started seeing results in a couple days. Walking also works too. But its results are slow for thighs. For anymore excersise or diet info go to prevention.com and they will have everything!Peace,Paris
