I weigh 206 and 5'3 1/2. I was recently diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri and losing my eye sight. They told me to drop about 50-70 pounds. I have bought a treadmill and do an hour a day on that. I use to drink 5 sodas a day or so. I have quit altogether drinking them and only drink water. I have changed my diet also and only eat about 1300-1500 calories. When I workout the treadmill says i lost 450 cal. I am really out of shape. What else can I do to lose the weight and how much do you think I will lose? How long will it take for me to notice? How long will it take to lose at least 50 pounds? Thanks

Well First Off U Should Know That Losing Weight(However Much) Is Hard So U Gotta Be Persistent & Determined Because U Can Get Real Discouraged Easily When U Don't See The Weight Drop Off Drastically.1) Drink All Water & Low Calorie Drinks Such As Propel, Gatorade, Powerade, & Thinks As Such. Don't Get Hundreds Of Calories Just By Liquid Intake. 2)Cut Out The Majority Of Sweets Or Salty Things That You Don't Need Because I Know Healthy Stuff Is A Little Pricey & May Not Be In Your Budget So If You Have To Eat Salty Foods Or Things As Such Don't Eat Large Quantities Of It. The Way I See It Unless You Don't Have To Have The Food Regardless Of The Calorie Intake(Such As Fast Foods) If U Can Only Afford That Then Cool Eat It But Don't To The Cheesecake Factory & Get 2 Pieces If Cheesecake. Cause If You Have Money For A Carefully Planned Diet, Then, Why Not?3) Burn More Than U Consume. Since U Would Need To Burn Thirty-Five Hundred(3500) Calories 2 Lose A Pound. I Would Suggest 500 Calories a Day Which Is 1 Pound A Week( You Can Still Exercise Hard Enough & Lose 20-30 Lbs A Month For The First Month Or Two Then You Gradually Start Slowing Down Your Weight Loss) . At That Rate U Could Get Your Goal Accomplished In A Good Fist Couple Months Maybe A Little Longer Without All Those Gimmicks & Diets You Don't Want To Go On.4) To Lose Weight U Could Go Outside & Run, Stay Inside & Do Crunches, Pushups, Run In Place, & Etc. . It's Numorous Things U Could Do But U Would Know What U Wanna Do Better Than Anybody. Just Pick Your Hobbies Whether It Be Anything From Boxing To Jump Roping . Because If You Just Go Running Or Something & Don't Have Somebody To Do It With Or Have An Mp3 Or Something You Will Get Bored Or Something & Not Want To Do It Anymore. Whatever It Is Just Make Sure Your Moving & Burning Calories5) & Last Of All Maybe Every Once A Month If You See Good Progress Eat An Item Or 2 That U Enjoy Because If You Just Eat Healthy & Nothing You Enjoy You'll Want To Stop So Indulge In An Item You Like Every Once or Twice A Month But Don't Get Carried Away & Destroy All Your Good ProgressGood Luck!

Adaptions have already started as you have been losing weight. Your doing great. The more varity in your diet the moer likely you are to stick to it, so dont be afraid to try new things. Now exercise:Try adding light weight training session focusing on using the whole body, so Shoulder press, chest press, row, fitball roll-in, leg press/squat, hover would be a suggestion, you may find your more dominant in some then in others. But by toning the muscle you have (not building) you will burn more fat. Also add a variety in your walking on the tred by alternating speeds every couple of minutes and maybe even changing incline if the option is available.By changing speeds your changing the situation so that the body cant just become use to that thype of changing and for the weight loss to stop.

When it comes to dieting:Eat smaller portions more often. Instead of 3 big meals, have 5 small ones (i mean MEALS, not snacks). Obviously eat as healthy as you can. A great type of food to eat is salad with some kind of protein filled something in it. Some grilled chicken is normally pretty good (not too much though, still has calories). You need to boost your metabolism, because a low metabolism will only make losing weight harder. If you have salad dressing with your salad, get it on the side, and dip your fork in the dressing, then pick up the salad. This way, you get the flavor, but you dont overuse the very unhealthy dressing. Cut out salty things as best you can, and really try to cut out all sweets. Its good you stopped drinking soda, and water is the best alternative. If you start drinking things like Gatorade and Propel, make sure you only drink it after you have been active and have been sweating/working out a lot. If you drink it without losing lots of electrolytes through activity, it becomes just as bad as soda. On excercising:When you run, maybe try lifting some light weights. Just something like 3-5 pounds or so, something that you almost dont feel yourself lifting. It may not feel like it, but it is working out your arm muscles and helping you work out and drop the calories faster. Its a good thing you're doing the treadmill, but also try other exercises. Do crunches, aerobics, pushups, try running outside for a while if you can (not sure why, but this always seems more satisfying/more helpful, not sure if it actually is though, more of a personal boost thing). Dont try to kill yourself, but gradually increase your time on the treadmill. You may get too used to it for an hour a day. Try increasing the time by a minute or so a day, or if you have the kind of treadmill that can change its settings, so do. Maybe elevate the treadmill a little, or increase the speed very slowly and gradually. It may not feel like much, but being able to do it means your progressing. You have to keep up with your schedule, and dont get discouraged if the pounds dont fly off. Eventually you'll see that you actually have lost lots of weight. Also, at a certain point, the weight will become harder to lose. Dont give up, just adjust your schedule slightly, and keep it up. It may be hard, but is very worth it.
