Losing weight is easier if you cut down on the amount of food you eat. Not too much but especially junky stuff.

I was walking quite fast 2 miles a day (25 mins) then got a 2nd hand mountain bike, first time again in 25 years, i just went 1 mile and when i got back almost passed out, ouch my legs! so i was wrong thinking i was fit with walking, now i'm doing 4 - 5 miles a day on the bike (25 mins) it really is better than anything. Easier on the feet and joints compared to jogging, cheaper than the gym.Bike was £35

For the most part, calories while walking are CLOSE to the amount burned while running. Your weight and the distance gone makes the difference. So walking 10 miles burns about as many calories as jogging for 10 miles. In theory, they would be identical, but the fact that you have to push your body up (bounce) when running costs/burns more calories. But they are close enough that unless you are very serious about your exercise or energy balance, that it doesn't matter much...probably within 10% of each other.Note, though, that running 8 miles an hour for 1 hour burns more calories than walking 2 miles an hour for the same time, simply because you have travelled farther.

Walking quicker will definitly aid you in losing weight more as you will be speeding up your heart rate, thus increasing the amount of fat you burn while walking; however, if your really interested in losing some weight, you may want to try walking for about 30 minutes after school. This will help you lose weight more quickly.

Yes- But only if you could keep the pace up1 Hour of Walking is the Equivalent to 30minutes of non stop RunningWhat you could try is to add resistance, buy some ankle weights,( very cheap, under a £5) which would make you use more force when moving = Move weight being Lost
