its going to take a combination of the right things to help you lose that weight. the most potent combination of factors for weight loss (especially quicker weight loss) are these three things (all as equally important to each other): caloric in take, high intensity cardio and a total body resistance training routine. don't panic. you don't have to do everything every day. what you should do is break it down day by day. firstly, grab an empty notebook and set it in your kitchen or on your kitchen table and use calorieking.com to determine the caloric value of everything you eat. at the end of the day add it up and make sure you are staying in between 1400-1800 calories a day (the faster you want results, the lower on the spectrum you should set your limit at). the basic premise of weight loss is that you are burning more calories than you are consuming. if the thought of counting and keeping track of things is too much for you invest in a meal delivery system like nutrisystem or deliciously yours where your meals will come pre-portioned out in correct portions needed for rapid weight loss. meal plans are expensive though and i've not always heard good things about the way they taste so definitely take that into consideration when thinking this whole thing over.then set up a workout schedule. say monday, wed, friday you are doing your total body resistance training routine (you can get a dvd or check out shape/fitness magazine for a routine to follow -- also walmart/target sells fairly cheap dumbbells.) shape magazine even has a bride workout dvd! make sure you chose a weight that has you feeling the burn otherwise you won't get quick results. tues, thurs, and sat are reserved for your cardio activity. for quick results high intensity cardio (for shorter period of time of course) is more effective but since i don't know your current fitness level its hard to make a good recommendation here. so if you plan to walk, take it up a notch. warm up at an easy pace for 10 minutes, then speed walk as fast as you can for 5 min, then go down to a medium pace for 3 minutes, then back to the fast pace for 5 ect...do this until you reach the last 10 minutes of your walk where you will then bring it down to a slower, cool down pace. this is called interval training and is extremely effective for quicker weight loss. it wouldn't hurt to add 5-10 minutes of jumproping in after your walk because its a tough exercise and will boost your caloric burn up tremendously (10 min of jumprope=100 cal burn). i would stay away from pilates as i find it insufficient for weight loss. it really does a better job on toning and firming IF you already are thin and don't need to lose any inches. above all drink lots and lots of water. probably around 2 liters a day if you want your metabolism running fast and at its prime to help you lose those inches! i know it may sound like a lot but its really not if you take things day by day and if you really truly want to look great for the big day you'll commit. best wishes Smile
