It depends on the person. can you jog longer on a treadmill or out side? Even if you put your treadmill in front of a TV and will as much as you can its better than running a mile a day. Also running can help you loose weight but sprints will tone and firm.

I'd pick outdoors hands down, you won't get as bored, you can do intervals of sprinting easier and I'd say you are least likelyto give it up as a treadmill (boredom)..

Doesn't matter, as long as you do it 1/2 hour a day. I love those mini-trampolines for jogging in place. They are way cheaper than a treadmill, fold up behind the door, and you can do a lot of other exercises on them. They work great and are super easy on the knees!!!

Both are effective for weight loss. I agree taht running outdoors is much more interesting...lots more to see, hear/experience but running on a treadmill has its benefit too. If you are going to run on a treadmill you want to eleveate it though to maximize the workout.

Outdoors. Running on a treadmill makes you feel like a hamster on a wheel. The scenery never changes. It gets very boring.Plus if you run outdoors and you decide to quit, you still have to get home one way or the other, even if you just walk home.

Treadmill will help you keep a good pace, but you may get bore or need a change in scenery.Outside jogging gives you scenery that helps go longer. You can buy devices to track pace .It all depends on person.

They both are effective if done properly. However, I would go with outdoor jogging for the simple fact, that you can add other elements into your workout. Also you must remember, losing weight doesn't exactly mean you are toning your body. U must add in exercises that improve your muscle tone. Another element that matters is timing, you should try and exercise the same time everyday, eat right, and most importantly get the proper rest. I hope this has helped.
