|
|
A couple of months ago I weighed 115 pounds, I know I am not overweight and I could lose about 15 pounds and still be within the healthy range, but I do have a little jpudge on my upper thighs and belly and I am feeling self concious because all my 90-100 pound friends can get away with wearing bikini's on the beach while I am always covering myself up with a towel. I decided to exersize and asked my mum if she could help me and she got me started with some company weight loss challenge with her friends (that are obese/overwieght). I having been forcing myself to eat their meals and protein shakes and bars over the past two weeks whilst I have been doing yoga and walking to school and I found I have gained weight and am now 122!! Sorry I don't mean to whine but is there a guideline somewhere or something for people who are not overweight to lose weight healthily without starving themselves??!! (please don't label me as anorexic I am trying to be healthy as possible and I am doing this for myself an my self confidence)Thankyou (I'm 17 btw) |

| Don't forget- muscle weighs 3 times more than fat. So the weight you have lost has been replaced by muscle. It is great that you are actively doing something to loose weight, ust don't forget to match your diet to your lifestyle, and you will be looking slimmer in no time! |

| If your are on the diet I think you are, then you will lose fat. Research has shown a high protein diet to work best. The body finds it very difficult to convert protein to fat, it will be used to rebuild muscle cells. You must be careful about the carbohydrates, cut them right down for a while, and you will see a big change. As someone else has stated, muscle weighs more than fat. I would suggest a little weight training, build just 1lb of muscle overall, and it will burn more calories even whilst you are resting. Do not worry too much about weighing yourself, try using a tape measure each week. Take measurements about your body. This is a better way to see if you are losing fat. Look for a high protein diet book. This will give you info. on what to eat. Weight training will shape your body. |

| it depends on your height to see if your underweight, healthy, or overweight. the bmi is wrong when it comes to being overweight, because 5lbs of muscles is 5 times smaller then 5lbs of fat. people with muscles will weight more and be healthier, but appear smaller then someone who is fat. go to the gym or doctor to get a body fat % test to see if your in a healthy body fat % range. dont even worry about the cellulite and rolls, so many people have them, and still show them off. dont think about it, just enjoy your time with your friends and be confident. if there nice friends, your cellulite and fat wont bother them. but its not wrong to want to loose extra body fat, as long as your not underfat, it's good to loose fat. its good to be healthy and strong, so build muscles. muscles make you look the best also. your probally gaining weight on your obese's friend's diet, beacuse they are obese, they need more calories to function! they are exersize less and eating more beacuse the bigger you are, the more calories you need. you need to have a program that is fit for you, not them. drink 2+cups water per hour. eat 6+times per day, 1-2hours apart. eat accoring to this link http://www.mypyramid.gov/pyramid/index.html dont worry about looseing weight, just worry about looseing a little fat and gaining muscles. so do 2+hours high intesity exersize per day, cardio and strength training. |

| I find that drinking water helps a lot in shedding weight. It isn't so much the water but the lack of sugar that's in drinks that does it.I also walk whenever I can. Walking is very good for losing weight, so is eating less,.. Try it. |

| I'm sure I can speak for most people, that we want to sustain a healthy life so that we have the ability to live up to a ripe old age. One such sore subject we never like dealing with is weight loss. It's the type of thing that we can turn on like a light switch, and on the opposite end, turn it off. But not exactly to our own free will. Weight loss and exercise was something I have always wanted to pursue and keep doing, but what are the right things for a man my age that I can easily do. I've decided to give the Green Tea diet a check for thirty days and see what all the buzz is about. I've heard so much good things, and doctors and scientists believe this herb has many positive elements that can help me curb my appetite, lower my blood pressure, and feel young.Just an overview on what I have to deal with. First of all, I'm about 40 lbs over weight, I don't have the best metabolism but I do live an active lifestyle full of sports. Secondly, I have inherited hypertension, it is in both my father's side of the family and my mother's, it's inescapable! That is the overall realization I'm faced with, a foundation for my study. Let's see what some of the results come out to be.I dove head first into this diet to achieve one thing, not to lose the weight, but to see what it does to my blood pressure without depending on blood pressure medication. I'll still eat my three square meals a day and use the green tea solution as my snack in between meals. Because believe me, I love my in-between snacks, and who doesn't? So in the beginning of March, I took my last blood pressure pill, and bombs away! After drinking green tea for the first week, I've noticed a drop in my blood pressure readings close to what they were when I took blood pressure pills. I was shocked because I didn't think there was something that could have dropped it like that. I've also noticed a less desire to eat when I drink the tea, I don't know where it comes from, but it could be a result on filling up on fluids. After another couple weeks, my blood pressure has held steady, so I know it is doing its thing. And after the final days, still no spike in the readings, so I was hooked. In the thirty days, I have also lost seven pounds, very nice! It seemed to me the urban legend was the truth! The one negative, green tea is not the most tastiest of teas, it kind of has that hint of grassy seaweed taste, but you get used to it.In addition, from what I understand, green tea has antioxidants to prevent sickness, make our skin feel smooth, and protect our memory. But by seeing the short term effects, I can say that I will make green tea a regular staple in my diet. I would not recommend green tea pills as they have caffeine in there, don't want to be up into the wee hours of the morning! All in all, my thirty day test has proven that green tea has great positive properties that just can't be ignored. Let's see what other effects it has six months from now! |
