I usually eat out of boredom, which is almost unstoppable at times. I was thinking if I was to eat 1 healthy meal a day (lunch) would this be alright? I am trying to lose the last 20 pounds of fat on my body. I didn't know if eating 1 meal a day would be able to shrink my stomach enough so I wouldn't be able to eat as much. Will this make me lose weight? I also exercise at least 1 hour a day bike riding, walking, and/or playing basketball. So, I figure with eating 1 meal a day and exercising I should increase my chance of weight loss.I am thinking that my 5 glasses of water a day is another way to help this. Although, I hate water I am trying not to drink soda or coffee with sugar anymore.

Eating fires up your metabolism. If you only eat one meal per day, your metabolism will decrease and make it extremely hard to lose weight and keep it off. It makes sense if you think about it. Your body was designed to keep fat, not lose it. If your body thinks it is starving, which it will if you don't eat often enough, your body will do everything in its power to hold on to the fat it has got. You should be eating 4-5 small healthy snacks/meals evenly spaced throughout the day. Say, a piece of fruit and a small yogurt or some stir-fry veggies with a little sietan, tofu, or meat. The exercise is good. Keep that up. If you want even more calorie-burning benefits, try some resitance training. It will increase your metabolism like nothing else will. Drinking plenty of water is a good thing. 5 glasses is a good place to start. Just make sure that you are properly hydrated, especially when you are working out. I would say another 2-3 glasses, depending on how hard you are working out, would be good.Good luck!BTW...Soda is liquid satan. It is sooo bad for you. So is diet. Don't put that crap into your body. All the sugar, caffiene, and crazy chemicals in the diet soda only makes it more difficult for your body to shed fat.

Yes it does. Becuase we tend to eat more than we are supposed to, over the years we expand our stomachs. Even if they aren't expanded too much, if you go without food, your stomach will get smaller and you will be able to hold less food. This is why if you give a starving person a huge meal or a lot of water, they tend to throw it up after they eat/drink it, their stomach is too small to hold it all.But i wouldnt recoment to eat only once a day!? That is VERY unhealthy, so u can eat 4-5 meals a day, but u should not be feeling full. Put in mind that ur brain takes 20 minutes to know that ur stomach is full. So imagin u keep eating for those 20 minutes, now by this ur overeating and ur stomach wont shrink. Try eating a little bit and leaving ur plate half empty and come after 20 minutes to the same plate ... do u feel like eating? if you dont then Ta da! you've succeded! if u do still wanna eat eat a bit more and come after 20 more minutes =) About ur hour of excercise would for sure increase ur weight loss, but make sure u burn more than u consume by checking what is ur BMR ... for example.. my BMR is 2015 it means that if im on bed sleeping all day ur body burns all those calories from doing all the procsses in ur body (heart pumping, breathing..etc) Now to calculate ur BMR :Step one is to calculate your BMR with the following formula:Women:655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)Men:66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + (12.9 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)Please note that this formula applies only to adults.Calculate ActivityStep two: In order to incorporate activity into your daily caloric needs, do the following calculation:If you are sedentary : BMR x 20 percent If you are lightly active: BMR x 30 percent If you are moderately active (You exercise most days a week.): BMR x 40 percent If you are very active (You exercise intensely on a daily basis or for prolonged periods.): BMR x 50 percent If you are extra active (You do hard labor or are in athletic training.): BMR x 60 percent Add this number to your BMR.The result of this formula will be the number of calories you can eat every day and maintain your current weightt. In order to lose weight, you'll need to take in fewer calories than this result. So say ur BMR is 2000 .. so you can eat 1500 cals a day, and doing ur hour of exercise wouldnt maybe burn 300 cals? remeber 1 pound is 3500cals .. so 3500/800 .. so by this u would be bunring a pound each 5 days!hope i manged to help =)
