You always hear that when person attempts to lose a lot of weight the body loses water and breaks down muscle as well.Now...I know you can't stop that from happening completely. But is there anything you can do to try to burn the most fat instead? Thanks.

This happens when someone tries to lose a massive amount of weight in a short amount of time-usually through starvation and crash diets. If you do it slowly, by counting calories and eating healthy and exercising, this won't happen.

Strenth training 3 time a week and don't overdo the cardio. You should only try to burn as many calories as you use up plus 500. For example if you burn 2000 calories a day, never eat less than 1,500 calories. And the most important thing is to eat a clean diet with lots of lean protein, i.e. chicken, fish, turkey, eggs, baked beans, nuts & seeds, lean beef/ham, etc. Also good carbs such as wholemeal foods, wholegrain cereals and fresh fruits and vegetables.
