How often should one add weight to their routines, for instance in preacher curls, or overhead presses? How much weight should one add when adding weight, for strength and mass? What if anything would be a way to get stronger and add mass, by adding weight? Does anybody have any suggestions other than using supplements? I stopped taking supplements like creatine, gakic, I only take protein shakes. I'm also a hardgainer, but am strong, but I want to gain at least ten to fifteen more pounds in muscle mass. I eat healthy and have plenty of protein and vitamins.

I used to think the quicker you add weight, the better. But then I kept getting injured. Like my tendons and bones couldn't keep up. Now I only add weight when I'm not tired at all at the end of the 4th set of whatever I'm doing.

You should add 5 pounds on to each set and be sure to lift until point of failure (when you can't do anymore). Also, for each lift you do, don't rush. Do the lift slowly, being sure to feel the muscle contract .During this time, blood flows to the muscle. You want as much blood as possible to flow to the muscle to help build that particular muscle. Best practice, for example with preacher curls, when you are lifting, count to 5 on your way up and on your way down. You will notice that you feel more of a burn in your arms. When working out your chest, you will feel what is like a stretch in your muscles. This is when the blood is flowing to your chest muscles. Good luck !
