I am currently toward the tail end of a weight loss journey. I have lost 70 pounds since last November, I went from 200 down to 130. I am a 5'6'' female, 24 years old. Now that I lost the weight, I realize I am thin...but not in any athletic form haha! I would like to train myself to run. I have found this "couch to 5K" program and I want to see if other runners think this would be a good starting place. Here is the site: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/...Also....what type of warm-ups should I do...stretching wise? I don't want to hurt myself out there! My goal is to complete a triathlon....after a year and a half of training. It's something I never would have thought I could do in life, and now that I am entering a new phase....I am totally ready! I can bike forever and swimming will need some work...but running is my major obstacle at this point.

dont forget to take breaks to eat and let your muscle grow! you shuld be 140lbs for your height so try to gain 10lbs. Muscle weighs more than fat, don’t try to loose weight, sleep 8 hours, eat healthy fruits veggies and 20+cups of water everyday, meats dairy and breads are healthy too, for 6 hours, exersize hard sweaty out of breath painful exersize for 8 hours, u can do 1min exersize 1 min eat, to the full 6 and 8 hours or any time in between, 2 hours for showers, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktAvn0Mdo8g do splits, jump land on splits, toe touch in air, flips, hold one leg stirght up to your head while standing, stand and hold one leg to the back of your head, break dance, cheerleading stunts,

First off congrats on dropping the weight! Now the question is how to keep it off and maintain that healthy type. - yes you can run a marathon which is always rewarding to the human soul! Follow the program KARA I think they have one in Chicago, but look on line for the booklet to get. It tells you what you need to run and the time frame to do it in....best booklet and thats how I trained for the Chicago Marathon in 2000.- My best advice is to do weight training...the best to make your body tight and get rid of all the body fat that was lost!Good luck and try Spin Classes lots of fun and you burn more calories doing that then running any day!
