| aim for about 30 minutes a day at a pace that gets your heart rate up, but wouldnt hinder you from being able to have a convo with anyone who was walking with you. if you can do longer, great, but aim for 30 minutes. i know at my pace, thats about 2.5 - 3 miles. i honestly dont know how you could do 9-11miles, thats like 4-6 hours of walking... when would you find time to do that?? |

| A pedometer is a great idea, but when I was at my most fit level I walked 1 1/2 hours 3-4 days per week. I was 125 lbs. Now I have a car and I'm 60 lbs heavier. I would like a pedometer just to get an idea of how many calories I have burned, I find it interesting and inspiring. Just FYI, Denise Austin and a few of my doctors have backed this up, but Denise Austin says your body is only required 15 minutes of exercise per day, so if you can get out for at least a 15 minute walk per day you'll be doing your body a good justice, walking any longer than that will surely help the weight loss. |
