I am in no way obese, but every girl worries about her weight. I eat fairly healthily (I am a 11 year vegetarian), but I would like to slim down around my thighs, make my rear end not so "ghetto," and most of all, I would like to have a flat stomach. At my college, there is a gym that is free for students to use, and since school has just started, I have been taking advantage of that-- mostly using the stationary bike and the elliptical machine. Generally, after I get in a workout, I try to walk/run around the track for a few laps. To achieve the results I am looking for, what exercises should I be doing? Anything different? Or should I continue with my same regimen? Typically, I try to get in an hour every time I work out, and I try to work out about 3-4 times a week.I'm 5'7.5"...about 127 lbsI have been a vegetarian for 11 years; I'm not "set" on it-- it is my lifestyle choice, based upon my beliefs, so that won't change any time soon...NOOOOI am 18, please read carefully, I have been a vegetarian for 11 years, I am EIGHTEEN

It's good to know you want to be healthier, but i'm going to tell you one thing. Vegetarianism is a good diet in some regards but it deprives your body of some important proteins needed to build lean muscle and burn fat. The protein found in vegtables is of very low quality compared to the proteins found in chicken, fish and egg whites. Also keep an eye on your carbohydrate intake because many vegetarians suppliment higher carb foods to make up for the empty feeling of a vegetarian diet. If you're set on the veggie diet you may want to consider protein shakes shortly after your workout that may help suppliment the proteins you're missing in your diet. As for excercise, 3 to 4 days a week is excellent. Pilates would be your best bet to flatten the stomach because they deal heavily with your "core" muscle group, your abs. Don't be afraid to work out your abs every day of the week because it's the only muscle that needs no recovery time. Stationary bike and ellipticals are good cardio workouts as is running around the track so i'd continue to do these excercises. Hope that helps good luck!!!

for your thighs and stomach the best thing I can tell you to do is intense cardio, thats the quickest way to burn fat. to make your butt smaller (I wont say ghetto, because the ghetto is a place, not an adjective-thanks) you should do leg lifts. get on your knees and elbows, and lift your leg straight back, that'll tone the booty. hope this helps. Also to make your stomach smaller AVOID crunches. Unless you have no fat on your belly, avoid crunches. People dont realize, if you make your muscles bigger under your belly fat, it just makes your stomach look bigger!GL to ya!

I think you are doing well - Just stick to it and watch your diet. Follow these tips and strive for a PERMANENT healthy living than weight loss. You are just eleven - so adopt an active lifestyle. You can follow these tips for yourself to lose weight and keep it off:1. MOVE - In any way you like - walk, dance to music, yoga, floor exercises for a minimum of 30 minutes a day - even 15 minutes twice a day.2. EAT your favourite foods - Just make sure they contain very less fat, and less Carbohydrates. Substitute dates and raisins for chocolates, alu chat instead of wafers, brown bread for white bread etc3. DRINK lots of water - At least 2 litres a day - Keep a bottle of water handy all the time and drink up.4. NUTS are good for you - Almonds, Walnuts, Groundnuts, etc So are dry fruits like apricots, raisins, figs, dates. Have these to satisfy the sweet craving - They help to reduce sagging skin due to weight loss5. Incorporate movement into your daily ROUTINES. Get off a stop earlier and walk home. Use the cycle instead of the motor bike/ car; stairs instead of the lift.6. Do things you LIKE rather than you don't like. If you hate going to the gym – Don’t go because you are bound to give it up first. If you go on a crash diet you are bound to binge sooner or later. So do things you like so you stick with it longer.7. DIVERT your attention away from eating. Learn a new language, a new dance-form, play games with friends, Go for a hike instead of staying home and watching a dvd, etc...FOR more tips visit my hub at www.hubpages.com/hub/myfitness www.hubpages.com/hub/bring-movement www.hubpages.com/hub/eat-what-you-like-and-slim Good Luck!

Hi there,I think you might be getting a little mixed up with what you want exactly. You say that you want to lose "weight" but that means you might want to get rid of some muscle too. You then say that you'd like to "shape" (I'd call it tone) your body a little which implies you want to build some muscle. I'm not trying to pick at your question - I just want to clarify the point for you.To answer it in the best way, I am going to look at it as if you want to get rid of fat AND build muscle at the same time. If you're looking to "trim" and "tone" your body, and espectially because you suggest you are not that overweight, I would suggest you start performing more intensive aerobic exercises such as jogging. I wouldn't think you need to change the whole way you eat or go on a diet because if you're wanting to build muscles - it's better to do it all with exercise.Exercises like jogging won't exactly "build" your muscles on your stomach but they will help reduce the extra fat around there. Depending on how fit you are, you should go on daily or bi-daily jogs of around a mile. To build muscles, you should concentrate on anaerobic exercises such as sit-ups to help build muscles. These muscle-building exercises will give your muscles the toning and training they need to grow and become more prominent. To start to see a real difference with sit-ups, you should be looking to do no more than 100 every day (more than that will often hurt your muscles). If you stick to doing those two forms of exercise - jogging and sit-ups, you should see real improvements in a week or two. Remember, you should do them as often as you can (I.E every single day). How do i lose fast weight? - Healthy life every day!search : http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&newwindow=1&as_qdr=all&q=%22How +do+i+lose+fast+weight%3F%22+-answers.yahoo+loseweighthappy&btnG=Searc h
