Fruit is great to eat 2 hours before working out. The natural sugar will give your body the boost it needs.

16 oz water an hour before you do cardio. As long as you have some carbohydrates, you'll have energy to do a great workout. What your body prefers will vary from person to person - fruit or a piece of bread with a little peanut butter 1 hour before you go are good suggestions. Instant oatmeal with water might also be good.

I would eat fruit about an hour, or even 30 minutes before exercising just because fruits usually contain a very easily digested type of sugar that should give you instantaneous energy. Yogurt is also very good, but get the least processed kind you can get (with no aspartame, not a lot of sugar (7 grams max i'd say), and don't get the fat free ones cause they replace the fat with the sugar and sugar is way worst because it creates a hormonal imbalance and makes you not be sensitive to insulin... bla bla bla). If you do real heavy workout you might actually want to have some starchy foods a couple of hours before exercising (but only if you work out really hard and really need the energy).

That would depend on how long/hard your workout will be. There is enough glycogen in your muscles and liver to support a couple hours of pretty hard effort without refueling. If you're going longer than that, easily digestible carbohydrates an hour or so before, plus some during every 30 minutes or so.

First, give yourself enough time after you eat something to digest or digestion will sap your true potential for a GREAT workout, try for 20-30 Min's.always eat lightMy favorite before cardio meal is one pack of (Quaker Weight Control oatmeal) with one whole banana. You get the perfect protein/carbs mix guaranteed to help your body perform at its absolute best ;)Nick
