| Saturated and trans fats have little place in the diet. Sometimes they come along with healthy fats or fats I consider essential like animal fats but intake needs to be monitored. Avoid eating fats with high levels of carbs.Every carbohydrate you eat is converted into sugar, the only difference between a simple carb (sugar, white flour, some fruits, candy, soda, etc) and a complex one (whole grain pastas, rices and breads, green vegetables) is the speed at which that conversion to sugar occurs. It is generally best to eat carbs that convert to sugar the slowest. An overload of carbs in the system (as with happens with candy, sugar or white bread) produces an insulin release. Insulin being released into the system turns on the fat storage mechanisms in the body. You want to avoid that at all times except after heavy weight lifting, then it is beneficial to replace glycogen stores in the muscle.Vitamin supplements. Most experts are on the fence that vitamin supplements even work. At the very least most will agre that natural vites as those found in food are far more beneficial to the body. At the very least you have to take your vitamin supplements in the middle of eating solid food so that the body will digest and absorb both at the same time. Taking a vitamin supplement on an empty stomach is literally pissing away your money as it will end up in the toilet (sorry to be crass)True.. minerals are very important in regulating many bodily functions and metabolism. |
