Hi, I've been using the ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor for 2 months now and we begin artificial insemination on my next cycle. I'm currently on CD 20 and my monitor has given me high readings since CD8.Is this normal?AlsoI recently purchased Ovulation Test Strips (the pee on a stick ones)...I want to use them in addition to using the Fertility Monitor. Any advice as to how? I know the monitor makes you use first morning urine and the sticks are more geared toward afternoon-ish. My question is what CD should I start? My cycles are long. When my monitor gives me a high reading should I start then?

I'm not sure why you're using OPKs in addition to the CBWFM because they both test for LH. The monitor also tests for estrogen (hence the price tag!) so I think the OPKs are probably a bit of a waste. If this is the first few months of using your monitor, that's why you're getting lots of high readings and no peaks. Next month you'll probably get fewer highs and at least one peak; right now it's learning your LH and estrogen levels and next month (and the months after) you'll get way more accurate readings. If you still want to use the OPKs (and after all, you've bought them, so why not Smile then use them around 11am or lunchtime and I agree that using them when you're getting high monitor readings would be the best time to start testing. Or another way of looking at it is to consider 14 days before your next expected period as the most likely ovulation date, so certainly don't start the OPKs until 20 days before your next period is due. I know .. irregularity can mess with that, but it's a guideline. Best of luck!

when i was doing Artificial Insemination i used the CBEM and CBE digital sticks(that's clearblue by the way).they both worked and i got pregnant the first time i tried AI,but sadly that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. but when my monitor stuck two bars i used the digital sticks, sure enough i was ovulating and thats when i did the insemination.
