i am very in shape, i jog about a mile or 2 everyday plus do pilates & yoga, and occasionally some nice ab work outs. I strecth before I jog and lately i have been getting this terrible sharp pain on the left side of my body right below my rib cage. It stops hurting when i stop running. What can i do to make it stop?

Are you eating before you work out. I've noticed that that happens to me too if I either eat right before or drink alot of water right before I workout .

It's your diaphragm cramping up. You can just work though it as much as possible eventually you'll be able to get passed it, and be able to do more of a work out.

If you are not drinking enough water that could be the problem. It could also be your breathing, maybe you are not breathing fully and realising all of the air in your diaphram which tipically results in a sharp pain underneath your rib cage. Try holding your belly button back to your spine when you excersise, it helps you breath better.

you need a break. any pro trainer will tell you after working out everday you need a (rest) period. the best is doing your workouts every other day, and mixing them up a bit. your muscles need rest to rebuild themselves, and they cant do that if you do that everday : /So, simply put, take a rest period : )
