Hi i just started martial arts training after having 2 kids and being out of it for 11 years. My first day back i loved it until after i got up the next morning. I could barely move! I didnt think i was over doing it, i was able to keep up with the class. My question is should i go back the next day or wait until i am not sore anymore, i am so sore it hurts to walk lol. I dont want to hurt my muscles or get any injuries but i also dont want my new instructor to think i am quitting already. HMMMM what to do?

Yes don't push yourself too soon or you will break down, pace yourself to be safe and it won't be long until you can go back quicker, but take it easy because your muscles won't be used to the work just yet and if you push too hard you won't be able to go at all for a while if you injure something let alone every second day.If you are sore it's good, it means your muscles are rebuilding and getting stronger, but let them rest and do their thing before going back to it or you are taking a big risk.

i would go back if i were you whenever your muscles are hurting stretch them REALLY well not stretching properly is a major reason athletes or anyone who is active gets injured also it will get easier and less painful as the time goes on

It would be good to not do the same work the next day and maybe have a rest day but be sure to stretch a few times during the day. That will help with recovery and make the soreness go away faster. If you go back to it right away you may injure yourself because you will be favoring the pain parts and perhaps using bad form etc. that is a way you will hurt yourself and then be really out ;)Stretching is Key!
