| Until one year ago I had no weight problems, and then my father died. Before I knew it, I was 60 pounds heavier. Clothes, friends, my self-esteem, nothing is the same anymore. My family is the only support I`ve got and they made me start a weight loss program. I`d like to know more about which is the healthiest diet and where can I find a good fitness planner. I started to jog in the morning at an easy pace for 30 minutes and I`d like to know how many calories I`m burning. Thanks. |

| You can find a good fitness planner at http://www.projectweightloss.com - along with a diet planner, calorie counter, protein counter, carb and fat counter. Plus, you may enter your target weight and the weight chart shows when your calorie intake is too high or too small, compared to your calorie limit. As for “the healthiest diet”… I don`t think there is a better diet besides the one you create on your dietitian`s advice. However, you also have there plenty of diets to choose from. |

| Hi,I think the best is simply to go to Amazon and find a reputable book on nutrition. Don't fall for all the diet fads, there is no magic pill or easy solution. The simple truth is you must burn more calories daily than you take in, that's the only way to loose weight. So eating less and exercise is the only real way to loose weight. Look for books by the American Heart Association, or this one seems good "Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy" by Harvard Medical School. |

Sorry to hear about your father. If you are jogging for 30 min, that's roughly 300 cal give or take, depending on how much you weigh and what pace you're jogging at and what incline, etc. But that's definitely a great way to get into shape, so keep it up!! You need to do this everyday, preferably in the morning, but if you don;t have time, it's ok to run in the evenings too. And you also need to do some light strength training and circuit training, because the more lean body mass you have, the more efficient your body is at burning calories. Combine this with a healthy diet of eating a small meal or snack every 3 hours, and you should see results in no time. |
