I have had 2 back surgeries and have been a very active person until now. It is driving me crazy and I am gaining weight. I have so many restrictions, it is hard to exercise. What can I do without further causing complications to build muscle and lose weight. I have gained 15 pounds since the beginning of my last problem and surgery and don't know what to do to lose it now that I have so many limitations. My "doctors" don't really help......... they give me exercises to do to help "strengthen" my back muscles and these actually hurt me more. They just don't beleive I am still in so much pain I guess.

For anyone to really answer this question is practicing medicine without a license, which is ILLEGAL and leaves that person open to lawsuits if you follow their advice then and something bad happens.

Best thing to do here is check with your doctor. He/she can put you in touch with someone that knows your history and limitations. Together you can devise a safe, effective workout plan and your doctor can supervise your progress...good luck!
