My usual diet consists of:Monday: 930-980 caloriesTuesday: 1000-1030 caloriesWednesday: 1050-1100 caloriesThursday: 1080-1150 caloriesFriday: 1080-1200 caloriesSaturday and Sunday- around 2,000-2,500Physical activity includes 60-75 minutes of walking Monday through Friday. Saturday is usually nothing or 30 minutes of walking. Sunday is a cleaning day and I'm constantly doing activity because I clean the house all day.I have been doing this for years now and I've always been able lose a some weight on this plan when needed to. After the holiday season, I gained 5 lbs and now I'm following this routine again and CANNOT lose any of the weight. I've been doing this now for 6 weeks and STILL can't manage to take ANY weight off. I just don't understand it. Do you think it's because I'm not eating enough during the week and my body may be going into starvation mode? I do end up feeling very hungry during the week at times... Please let me know your thoughts.

No, you aren't eating nearly enough for the activity you are doing. Your hunger is a signal of that. I recommend that you go ahead and eat something when you feel hungry - just make it a healthy something. Probably some fruit with some protein. It doesn't have to be a lot. I'm not a big fan of the starvation mode idea, even though there is some truth to it. Don't be intentionally restricting your calories all week, and make sure you are eating breakfast. Once you've increased your calories a little, you might want to have a look at your exercise routine. Are you adding hills and speed intervals to your walking? This will boost your calorie burn by quite a bit. Are you doing any strength training? In order to keep your metabolism up, you should be doing something to keep your muscles toned. It might make you gain a few pounds, but you will actually look thinner. Good luck!
