You'll feel better emotionally as well as physically...at 5'8" and 142, you are physically fit already...but it can't hurt.

You WILL lose weight. I walk a little more than that daily (walk to school, then to lunch, then to work, then home) and I haven't changed my diet except for lunch (subway) and I must say I'm looking pretty good. Great idea.Oh and from your avatar, you appear gorgeous, don't change a thing. |

Walking burns as many calories as running. It will strengthen your gluteus muscles, calves, and the support muscles around your hip and knee joints. It's good for your lower back as well. Walking on the ground is actually more efficient than walking on a treadmill because you gain added resistance from the friction of your feet pulling you forward. there are a ton of benefits, especially since you are eating a healthy diet.

Drink lots of water and try to average 30 minutes a day or session. Any kind of cardio in such as manner is great stuff for you.

A lot! 1. Don't walk in a straight line, or you'll be 3 miles from home.2. Don't just entirely drop meat and fish from your diet. Lots of vegetarians don't get enough protein and iron. Read and learn.

Any type of exercise will help you feel good and relieve stress. If the picture is a recent one, let me say from what I see you look like a vibrant, healthy young lady! Be sure you check in with a family physician just to be sure everything is ok. (better safe than sorry!) Then get a comfortable pair of shoes and go for it!!!

Walking three miles each day is very beneficial for you, both mentally & physically. Walking will help you tone up & you will lose weight as well. Moving your arms will give you a good cardio workout as well. Don't forget to drink water daily. That's very beneficial to the body as well. Walking is the most natural form of exercise & not so hard on the joints like jogging is.
