| I just had a baby 2 months ago and need/want to lose about 30 lbs... I joined a gym Saturday morning and have gone twice- each time for 1 hour- doing mostly cardio. These machines count calories burned... I counted that I burned 400 today just in the gym only... my question is how many EXTRA should I aim to burn a week in order to lose 2 -3 lbs a week??I know it takes time & I'm very determined. Thanks!! |

| drink water and tea and juice instead of soda, chew gum if you feel the need to eat, and eat only healthy foods and go to the gym.i don't count calories,it's too stressful.just break a sweat at the gym and eat normally yet healthy and that should do the trick |

| hiSince you joined a gym...that's great...but you should consider weight lifting to increase your fat loss efforts, increase strength and metabolism...as opposed to just cardio. Weight lifting is far better for sculpting a healthy looking body. I suggest talking to the personal trainer on staff . I am a fitness professional for 15 years and I have run into this or similar misconceptions before...oh and the calorie counts on cardio machines are grossly inaccurate! they are just an estimate at best...To best lose fat, you need to know how many calories you are taking in,what your maintenance level is . You also would need to incorporate weight training in with your cardio..Most gyms allow you a free personal training session ..at least try to talk to a fitness trainer on staff:)Good luck to youGeorgette http://gymfreesolution.com |

| Hi, besides exercise you need to regulate your diet. My wife has just been told she has diabetes, since WE have started to use low GI food we have lost a bit of weight; my wife has lost 10 cms from her waist ! Why don't you see your doctor so he can advise you about your diet. Reguards, Dreamer. |
