smaller portions, 5 small meals a day instead of 3, if she can't do that 3 meals smaller in size with a snack of fruit in between preferably citrus....no eating after 7pmdrink at least 4 glasses of water dailydaily walk lasting 1 hoursnacks in between if needed are fresh veggieseat more fresh veggies than cookedstick to lean meats like turkey, chicken and fishexchange butter for oil on veggies potatoes, rice and pasta are to be a side order than a full mealNo gravy or sauces or condiments on foodUse herbs to spice up your meateat only whole wheat bread , pasta, or brown rice.all dairy should be 1% or fat free.cut out sugar and limit caffeine to 1 cup each morningcut out pops and sugared juices, only natural juice and that should be part of a snack not added to an already large enough meal....do not eat packaged food, make it from scratch.make sure you have bran every morning to keep your bowels cleanthere is no reason on this way of eating that she can't loose weight.If she would like to do some aerobics or cathesthetics to a tape while at home or if she wants to go to the gym, even better.....she needs to commit to this one week at a time. look at the small picture not the big picture and it is a lot easier to stick with it.

40 lbs in 7 months is completely doable although it will take motivation. That breaks down to about 2lbs a week which is a healthy rate to lose weight. Weight loss works best if you ease into it.For the first week, record everything you eat, what size and when you ate it. Websites such as www.fitday.com are useful for this purpose. Also just carrying around a journal and writing that information is good too. Then look at the journal and compute calories (www.calorieking.com). Look at how many calories you ate and where you could cut off snacks or swap them for healthier ones. Look when you have a tendency to snack and formulate a strategy to keep you from heading toward the bad snacks.For the second week, start cutting down on the food and eat healthy snacks. If you can, begin a light exercise program such as walking for 15 minutes every day.For each consecutive week make the meals healthier and healthier until your calorie count per day is about 2400-3000 a day. Depending on how heavy the person is, the calories should be different for weight loss. Continue an exercise program and build it up to 30 minutes of exercise each day. You may want to throw in some weight training or yoga to strengthen the muscles as having toned muscles makes your body look slimmer, toned and fit.Basically people are fat because they eat too much and don't exercise. There are no shortcuts except watch what you eat and get off your butt.Good luck!

Weight Watchers and exercise 30 minutes everyother day. 2.5 pounds per week times 4 weeks=ten pounds .a month times 7 months =70 pounds

I'm 53 and 5'11".I weigh 220 lbs.In 2005,I was 310 lbs!I went froma size 30 to a size 12 by 2006!I walked over 30 miles every week to work listening to one of my kids' gangsta rap CDs,drink lots of H2O,and even took up salsa(1st time Iwent to my lesson,my oldest girl,thought I looked liked a Ninja,iwas dressed all in black!)I didit w/o a gym;I did it because I went on vacation with friends to Virginia and all I could wear were hospital scrubs(in 90 degree heat)After everyone teased me about performing brain surgery,I vowed to lose the lbs.Tell your mom to pray and get steppin'!Good luck!Oh,I wear minis and I'll be 54 inFebruary!

eat less cut out sugars breads an high carbs count calories eat a salad an yougurt a aday. the yogurt helps burn fat, try to walk atleast 4 to 5 miles a day around your neighborhood or wherever. if you want to work out inside buy a jump rope that burns calories fast every 5mins burns 100. Do stairs atleast one day of the week skip hole day worth of eating an try to drink 2 to 3 liters of water a day. any kind of excersis tell her to keep a sweat it boost the metabolism an burns calories
