I defintely need more exercise and the only way I see that happening is an exercise bike in my house. Which I think would be great, however, I heard about a friend of my friend who used to run a lot but never did something ( I think warm up ) and he slipped a disc in him back and had to have many operations etc. Is this bike going to do me more harm than good?!If I warm up by cycling slower and gradually get faster over the period of 10minutes and get slower at the end of say 1 hour of exercise by warming down for 10minutes, is that all I need to do?? How can I get pro info so I don't do something stupid?! WHAT DO I DO TO ENSURE what I want to do will cause me NO harm???!!!!!!!!!Thank You for your help, please only give answers you KNOW are true, not made up. Thank You.

Make sure you really stretch before you start. Stretch your leg muscles really good and you should be fine. Then do like you already said and warm up some.

all exercise is dangerous. You are born with only so much energy and if you use it all up you will die.

You should be okay. If you have any problems to begin with then you should talk to a doctor before using one. As long as you start off nice and steady in the beginning, you should be able to gradually pedal faster without hurting yourself.

your friend's incodence is verry rare, but your idea to speed up, then slow down, would decrease the result of that hapening to you.Lauren

Alright, well you should take 5 minutes and stretch. Stretch your legs, your arms, everything. Once your all done, hop on the bike and start out slow. Pedal slowly and just stop when you are tired. The next day do the same thing with the stretching, but then go a little faster on the pedaling or increase the time you perdal by 2 or 5 minutes. Remeber to eat healthy! Good Luck =]

You should do everything that you thought except for two things: 1. Stretch before and after. Stretch your leg muscles by reaching for you toes. And just stretch your arms out. Do these before and after.2. Start gradually. Start with just 10 minutes on the bike. Add five minutes every day. I do it 20-25 minutes. If you can go one hour, good for you!!!The stationary bike is EXCELLENT for your whole body. Just warm up, and cool down. And everything GRADUALLY. Good luck to you!! I have to watch a good sitcom. Listening to music would be good to. Have fun and be healthy!! |
