I have recently lost just over a stone although with Chrsitmas coming up, all those temptations and the fact I can no longer afford a personal trainer I'm really worried I'm going to put it all back on again. Has anyone got any suggestions to keep it off? Or any tips on keeping on top of the training? i.e. motivation now I dont have my PT. I know I want to keep it off and I think thats pretty much motivation in itself but if anyone has ever been in a similar situation and can guide me through I'd appreciate itThanks ) |

I'm going through this myself, although I have never had a personal trainer, just my bf to motivate me - but he is going home to Ireland for Christmas. I reckon the best technique will be to enjoy ourselves, don't be too hard on ourselves if we do slip up (which is inevitable) and just make sure you schedule in visits to the gym so that you have no excuse not to go. Why don't you ask a friend to come with you - that way you can motivate each other. I think the worst thing I am going to do is feel really really guilty for eating too much and then end up eating more / not going to the gym cos I'm all disappointed with myself!!! Good luck - I hope you manage it ) |

| I lost almost 4 stone 4 years ago and I have kept it off through exercise 5 times a week. You need to get sweaty and out of breath for about an hour. Remember all those things your personal trainer taught you and use them. You have done so well and you should be proud of yourself. If you put a few pounds back on, don't beat yourself up. We all do that over Christmas. Run, cycle , row, take updancing or a martial art or swim. Or do a combination of all of these. Most important is to find exercise that you enjoy as you will not stick to it if you hate it. |

| If you can, find someone to make an exercise commitment with. Whether it's a person, or a dog, having someone rely on you makes it more likely that you'll get out and move. I know I wouldn't go for walks or runs without my dog. Maybe a friend has a pet you can walk for them. Good Luck!!! |

| You seriously need to check out this set of recordings that my doctor recommended to my wife and I last year. It has kept us exercising on a daily basis, and eating only half portions. We ordered it online from a company called Independent Achievement Productions. It's created from a therapist, and it's recordings that change your mind to crave exercise. Now is this time of year to definitely get going before the holidays get ahold of you. WE never feel deprived and eat what we want. |
