|
|
| I got my jeep cleaned (engine bay) and the engine light is on. Scenerio;1) Day after cleaning engine idled at 2000rpm ( norm 800 )2) Next day idle returned to normal and Check Engine Light came on3) Ran Diagnostic trouble shoot, Codes 12, 24, 24,4) Now Jeep drives VERY jerky when in second gear around 1800rpms and taking it out of 3rd gearCodes,12 Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 Key-on cycles. This doesnt bother me 24 Throttle position sensor input above or below acceptable voltage. TPS signal does not correlate to MAP sensor. What does this mean??? What could be the problem? I think it has something to do with the throttle body? |

| Yes, you probably got the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) wet, or possibly the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor wet. These are used by the computer to determine exactly how much fuel to allow into the mixture that your engine takes in. Too much and it'll run rich, to little it will run lean. Sounds to me that you might have gotten the TPS wet since it was running high when it was wet. Get a chiltons manual and pull both sensors and check them with an ohm meter to verify that they are correct and replace accordingly. Good Luck!! |
