I take 1 vitamin of some type of common women's vitamin everyday, you can find in stores.I am in high school and i am overweight, doctor's words, but not obese. I'm 5'3 1/2 and 151 pounds. I just want to loose some weight to see how it goes and stuff. Is this an appropriate diet? ... for breakfast, eating one yo-plait low-fat yogurt. for lunch a water and a orange or apple. and for dinner two turkey or ham sandwiches with mayo. is that healthy?plus i own a treadmill and will run a mile on it each day, flex a lot during the day, flex before going to bed, and i also have a work out machine that works your arms and legs, and every quarter mile i will pause the treadmill and go to that machine and work those out a little bit. also doing sit ups, crunches, sit ups (stay in up position for a minute) jumping jacks, running in place, etc. is this healthy? what do you suggest? and also, i am eating littler because everybody says burn more than you take in, and i don't want to take in too much. thank you!

Good job! You're trying hard thats AWESOME!but little suggestions, wen ur first starting to change your habits, this is that great of a way to start.but good job again.anyways, here read this plan, u might change ur mind about ur ideas to lose weight.FIRST OFF DONT EVER THINK ABOUT STARVING YOURSELF< that will just take longer for u to lose weight, cuz since ur not getting enough energy from food, ur body has to store ur fat for energy, so it creates more fat. Thus, u get fatter instead of just eatin enough and burning the calories which is a much faster and more effective way! DONT DO ANY PILLS, VIDEOS< OR CDS (losing weight doesnt have to cost money) OR ANY OTHER STUFF(SLIM FAST) YOU CAN STILL EAT GOOD FOODS, JUST IN MODERATION. DONT LIMIT YOURSELF< IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT HERES A GREAT PLAN THAT REALLY WORKS:Every day do:25 push ups25 sit ups15 leg lifts(*FOR THE THREE ABOVE: IF U FEEL LIKE THE BURN ISNT ENOUGH, ADD MORE REPS> FOR INSTANCE MONDAY AND TUESDAY U DO 25, THEN ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY ADD 5 more, THEN ON FRIDAY ADD ANOTHER 5 and so on.)Go riding a bike for 30-60 minutes at least 4 times a weekWalk to and from places if its possible toRun a mile once a weekSwim twice a week for a half hourFOOD:Eat all three meals a day, just dont overfeed.Take your time when eating. If you want any snacks in between, eat celery/carrots or something healthy. No sodaWATERWhen you want flavor badly, drink crystal light. For breakfast, have cereal or yoghurt. For lunch, have a salad or sanwich with whole wheat breadFor dinner, enjoy yourself, but dont pig out or have super unhealthy foods...example:::fried chicken with a side of french fries and chocolate cake for dessert!!! UHH NOOO!!NO ICE CREAMEat 1 hour after waking up(if u can) and 3 hours before u go to bed.Try to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. When your body is deprived of sleep your appiteite increases by 15%.NO POPCORN< CANDYNO CHIPSFRIED FOODS ONLY 1 time per weekNO COOKIES/cake(WHEN I SAY NO blah blah blah,,, it means u can have it, but like 1 time per week or 2 weeks if you choose.)***SOME EXTRA TIPS:Try to avoid white, bleached, or enriched flour.Stay away from high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils.Read food labels, often times they say stuff is "healthy" and it really isnt. For instance, if u see that there is more than 20 grams of sugar in a candy bar, thats high so u should limit that candy bar to like 1 time per week! Get the point?YOU HAVE TO STICK WITH THE ROUTINE DONT GET LAZY>>>KEEP PUSHING!!! GOOD LUCK, DONT WORRY U CAN DO THIS!

(On a side note: is this first "answer" just copy and pasting the same thing in answer to every question asked in "diet and fitness"? How annoying!)Anyway, you're going to have a problem...You're actually not eating enough, which is putting your body into a starvation mode. This lowers your metabolism as a survival mechanism and consequently makes losing weight next to impossible. With the amount that you're working out, you should be eating at least 2000 calories a day, even to lose weight, and you're eating probably around 850. WAY too low. You're really doing damage to your body, and you're never goin to lose weight if you don't start balancing it out a little more.I'd suggest adding more to breakfast and lunch. You're eating well balanced, you just need more of it. Eating frequently throughout the day is helpful, too, because it will keep your metabolism going.Good luck!

First I want to say good job for trying to be healthier! I think you're on the right track but 2 things raised a red flag for me. One - based on the little amount you are eating I'm worried you are not getting the appropriate nutrients to keep your body healthy. Two - Yo plait yogurt, even low fat, usually is high in sugar (or artificial sugar). I've switched to buying a tub of plain non fat yogurt and blending fresh fruit into it instead (and it's actually cheaper too!). Then you have an apple or orange for lunch. It seems you're taking in quite a bit of sugar but not a lot of fiber and protein. Switch it up every couple days. Egg whites and whole wheat toast for breakfast, veggies or low sodium low fat soups work well too. Other than that I think you're doing pretty well and keep it up!
