If I eat around 1200 calories a day, and work out 6 days a week I can drop to about 180 lbs. When I go to maintain, I workout 3 to 4 days a week and eat around 1800 calories a day BUT instead of maintaining i'll gain weight Rapidly. If I don't stick to my plan I'll baloon up to 210 lbs in a month and a half. Then I have to go back to being missrable to drop weight again.I carry all my weight in my mid section, I'm 5'7"I eat HEALTHY, no fast food, proteins, good carbs and I count cals.I've tried all supplements, diets and whatever. I have a good core workout. I just can't figure out why my weight is SOOO volatile. any help???

You might want to check with your doctor to see if it's a health problem.

Your maintenance program may contain too many calories for the type of workouts you're doing. Try intensifying the workouts to compensate for the extra calories. You may also want to see a registered dietitian to make sure you are really eating as healthy as you think. Sometimes there can be hidden fats that you don't realize are there. Also, look at how much sodium you're actually consuming, which may be causing water retention.

either you can't add or you've got strange medical issues.common sense says that the difference between 1200cals and 1800cals a day is 600cals. if you are losing on 1200cals there aren't sufficient cals in upping to 1800 for you to gain rapidly.i'm giving you an honest answer. it has to be medical or you are somehow miscalculating calories.fyi. i've been on a diet for 5 months. most of it at 1300 to 1600cals a day(i kept a food diary). right now since i only have 5lbs to go i just lose slowly and i eat 1800 to 2200cals( no diary, i take an educated quess by keeping my cals between 300 and 500 a meal. 5 meals
