|
I'm 5'6, 16 and and 110 pounds, in the past 2 months i've gained five pounds and just don't feel comfortable anymore. I've just gotten into some unhealthy habits and I need a structured plan to follow. I don't have much time to exercise, but I may be able to walk a few days a week. Thanks so much.

Aim for 1300-1500....But you really don't need to lose weight. I'm 5'6" and weigh 140 pounds and look fine. Be reasonable with dieting, your weight isn't going to drop much more before it comes dangerously thin.

You should really find out how many calories you burn in a day. I know it sucks but try and record what you eat over the course of a few days and figure out what your body requires to maintain itself. For example say you find out that you need about 1500 calories everyday then try to reduce your intake by about 100 to 200 a day but no more. Then you'll lose about a pound to two pounds a week. If you try to restrict any more, your body will go into a starvation mode and try to conserve as much energy as possible and it'll make trying to lose weight next to impossible. Good Luck.

It depends on your weight. Dramatic calorie reduction will cause you to put weight on in the medium term...you know what happens when you eat too many...If you want to lose weight permanently, you need to recognize your bad habits and learn new ones - slim habits. As you rightly point out, it's all about habits...You need a program that will give you a complete guide to how to make the necessary changes...
