Treadmil makes abrupt stops?

my treadmill makes abrupt stops while running on it ,it just stops for a second and than continues but it does this every minute or so,I checked the belt but it seems fine . Anybody knows what the problem may be?

It sounds like there could be a loose wire to the motor.

i had a problem like this. turned out to be the plug and not the TM which was at fault.
