It's winter and my young mare is bored while I'm at work. She gets plenty of exercise, she has a gelding buddy, and we even gave her a couple of goats to chase. But she gets bored and gets into things; nothing bad, just mischievous. I need suggestions for fun, safe things for her to play with, mostly so she's quick kicking her food bucket around.(She's physically fine, not depressed, and not off her feed....really, I know my horse, and she's just a little bored. Wink Oh, good ideas! What kind of ball do you put treats in? Thanks so much!...

Get her a ball: You put treats/nuts in it... And they push it around.. every time they push the ball some feed falls out.. eventually they learn that pushing the ball outs out treats, it makes entertainment for them. And the good thing is that not alot falls out so you don't need to worry about her getting fresh or hot.

55 gal plastic barrels traffic cones rope with a jug on the end with treats in it. There are so many different things you can do and not spend a lot of $$. Just like cats you can spend a fortune on toys and they will play with the twist ty off the bread.

jolly balls are AmAziNg my gelding is the most curiousest/mischievousness horse i know and he LOVES to play with a jolly ball, and if she likes to kick her food bucket around then maybe get a plastic barrel and lay it on its side- some horses like to push them around when they're board, some good websites for horse toys are: http://www.horseplayproducts.com/products.htmand you got to check out this one too its way funny: http://inventorspot.com/articles/horses_reduce_stress_horseplay_c_6563 hope this helped- good luck-
