| i am 20 years old 6 foot 4 ,370 pounds i am on a diet i have been taking 2 whey protien shakes a day i am tryn to lose about 150 pounds i have stoped eating fast food and drinking soda.i have been working out on the treadmill everyday now for 2 weeks. i am woundering if i should be taking the protien shakes to lose weight.i have been using water not milk to make the shakes.if any one could help out that would be great thanks.and if i should be taking anything else. |

| Whey protein is good for after a workout because your body needs the protein to produce muscle growth. Since you're trying to lose weight my advice would be, try eating 5 to 6 small meals a day to boost your metabolism. (Make sure it's not junk food). Drink plenty of water. Start a cardio program for at least 30 minutes 4 to 5 times a week. You can walk, jog, bicycle, skip rope, etc. Also light weight training is good for muscle tone and muscle burns away at fat. | Waste of money because you're planning on losing weight and not building muscle. Protien is used to build/repair and recovery of your muscles. |

| Of course, utilization of protein powder whilst on a diet can be of great benefit. It offers the protein component your body requires accompanied by a very low calorie content. Whey protein isn't going to make you fat, it can't, if your just using a protein then the calorie content will be extremely low. All in all, continue to use! |
