The term "overweight" means varying things to varying people. It's a good idea to set off at the beginning, and establish whether you are actually overweight for your size or not, by calculating your BMI (Body Mass Index). You can understand how to do it at the web portal in the box below, they have loads of guidance, I lost 6 pounds by following their helpful advice.

get a personal trainer if you think that you are not motivated enough to go to the gym by yourself or don't like just going for a run. personal trainers are awesome for pushing you to your limits when you might not normally do it or when you want to do something more creative to get in shape! They always have good exercises. My vote: do it!

I suggest you not to get one and follow what you love like swimming which is great for the body.If you decide to workout in the gym, get a personal trainer just for first few sessions to understand the exercises, reps and intensity.

A personal trainer will help to keep you motivated, they will hold you accountable, they have the knowledge to design different effective workouts to get to to your health and fitness goals. At the gym, they will show you the proper way to use the machines so that you will not injure yourself.
